Otjenga Jagdfarm
Welcome to Namibia
Hosts in fourth generation
Family Erpf
The Otjenga Hunting Farm is located in the northern part of Namibia. Your hosts, Harro and Vanessa Erpf, are fourth-generation Namibians of German descent and run this 14,000-hectare hunting farm. A game reserve of over 11,000 hectares is reserved exclusively for hunting native, wild game.
At Otjenga, we offer you hunting in its original and ethical form. With daily stalking trips, this hunting adventure will provide you with unforgettable, exciting, and unique moments in Namibia. The preservation of diverse and healthy game populations is our priority. Through selective hunting, we preserve Namibia's nature and landscape for the future.

Hospitality and local cuisine
The farm
At Otjenga, you'll find five cozy double rooms/bungalows with private bathrooms and a small terrace overlooking the always busy watering hole. Our natural pool invites you to cool off anytime.
The heart of the farm, Gabi and Vanessa Erpf, provide culinary delights. You'll be pampered in a special way with fresh produce daily, mostly from their own farm, and, of course, with their own meat.

sustainable African hunting
on Otjenga
Your passionate hunting guides on Otjenga are the father-son team Hansi and Harro Erpf.
Our aim is to introduce you to the typical African facets of hunting, whether while stalking or sitting in a hide, and thus to give you a unique Namibian hunting experience.
Whether in the mountains on zebra and kudu, in the bush on impala and eland or oryx and wildebeest on the plains, each species of game has its own special requirements.
Our priority is ethical hunting and the associated sustainability.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
A hunting trip is possible from February to November inclusive
The seasons in Namibia are opposite to the seasons in Germany
Das heißt:
February to April
It tends to be very green, and the probability of rain is relatively high. Temperatures hover around 30°C during the day, dropping below 20°C at night. The game is well-fed at this time of year, but has plenty of cover thanks to the lush vegetation.
May to June
Namibia's short autumn. Rain is very unlikely. Temperatures range between 25 and 30°C during the day, dropping below 10°C at night. The impala and kudu rut is interesting for hunting.
July to August
The Namibian winter. The vegetation is yellow/brown because there is no rain during this time. Daytime temperatures are 20-25°C, but at night temperatures can drop to freezing. The low temperatures allow for game viewing until midday.
September to November
After what feels like three days of spring, summer is upon us. Temperatures are steadily rising above 30°C again. From October onwards, there may be occasional light rain showers. This is the driest time of the year, and vegetation is accordingly sparse.
Hunting remains exciting and varied throughout the entire season from February to November.
Depending on your hunting requirements, we recommend a stay of 7-10 days, plus 3-4 days for a possible tour to Etosha National Park and/or Swakopmund.
You are welcome to bring your own weapon. It's even recommended for long-range shooting. Depending on the airline, this may incur a fee. Rental weapons are available in all common calibers.
A caliber suitable for big game (at least 6.5) with a good hunting bullet. We recommend composite core bullets, e.g., Nosler Accubond.
Sturdy / light footwear for stalking.
Of course, there are snakes. Fortunately, they are very rare. Very few guests ever see one during their vacation.
